Discovered in 1889 by the famous speleologist Edouard-Alfred Martel, the Demoiselles cave is located in Saint-Bauzille-de-Putois, in the Hérault valley. An underground funicular takes visitors to the entrance to the Demoiselles cave. After crossing several rooms decorated with concretions, spectators discover, amazed, the immense and splendid "Cathedral of the Abîmes", a room with a length of 120 meters, a width of 80 meters and a height of 52 meters in which stalagmites, stalactites, draperies and columns are visible. It is in this same room that we can see the stalagmite of the Virgin and Child.

This astonishing geological phenomenon, similar to an immense amphitheater of 340 hectares, forms a curious forest of dolomitic rocks with uneven morphologies.
